Welcome to St. Isidore Cluster!

Extraordinary Ministers - Commissioning and Refresher Training

ALL Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (including those who

take Communion to the Homebound) will need to attend a refresher training on November 22 and 23. There will be Commissioning during each of the three Masses and refresher training immediately following each of the three Masses at Sacred Heart and Visitation on November 22 and 23. There will be a form to fill out at the conclusion of Mass.

Commissioning is for three years. Our last commissioning was October 2011.
If you are unable to attend, but wish to remain on the schedule, please contact Fr. Ray to set up an appointment.

Second Collection

As Rich Curran said at the Pastoral Leadership Study Day on November 2nd, "The primary Mission of the Church is to the poor. That is what Jesus did."

We will have a 2nd Collection the First weekend of each month.
See the newsletter for upcoming recipients. There will be a notice in the bulletin the week before each collection.

When donating to a second collection, please make your check out to St. Isidore. That way we can record it on your contribution statement and we will write one check to the beneficiary. Thank you!

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

You may have noticed that we have added a line in the Stewardship report in the left column. Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) are when parishioners have their weekly donation taken directly out of their checking or savings account. We currently have 19 parishioners using this option. It is easy to sign up and you won’t have to remember your envelope every week

Saint Isidore The Farmer 1070-1130

Isidore is the patron saint of Madrid (Spain), of farmers, and of the National Catholic Rural Life Conference in the United States. He began working in the fields of a wealthy Madrid landowner, Squire John de Vergas, when he was very young. Isidore spend his whole life in those fields.

Isidore rose early each morning to go to Mass and, while laboring all day in the fields, communed with God and the saints. Though poor themselves, Maria (his wife) always kept a pot of stew on the fireplace in their humble rural home; often Isidore invited into their home the hungry to feed them.

Frequently Isidore was left with only the leftover scraps for himself. Numerious stories are told of Isidore's love for animals and birds.

Through the centuries many miracles were attributed to him. This saintly man died on May 15, 1130 and he was canonized in 1622.

Fair Trade - Work of Human Hands

Thank you to all who have stopped in to see our various Fair Trade items - we also now have coffee! We order our items from SERRV, a nonprofit organization, who’s missions is to eradicate poverty wherever it resides by providing opportunity and support to artisans and farmers worldwide.

When you purchase Fair Trade items you are allowing SERRV to: repay their partners so they can sustain their business, create new designs so they can build their markets, teach new skills so they can develop their craft, and provide grants so they can expand their resources. SERRV supports equal rights for women, guide sustainable development, and our course, pay a fair wage.

Come to the Cluster Office to check out a catalog of all the items available!

Stewardship Quote

As we pray today for an increase of spiritual gifts, we are reminded by the bishop’s pastoral on stewardship that good stewardship of the Church “means cherishing and fostering the gifts of all, while using one’s own gifts to
serve the community of faith.”
